Top 8 Casserole Recipes Every Busy Family Should Know

Figuring out what's for dinner, is one of my least favorite things I have to do as a parent. Some moms love to cook and are good at it. I am NOT one of those moms. So, it's important that I have a reliable list of recipes on hand that the whole family will eat, that are nutritious, AND that I can make successfully with my limited time, and my limited cooking skills!

I scanned the internet looking for just the right casseroles for yours and for my busy family. The qualifiers I looked for included in addition to great flavor are: the number of ingredients, the amount of time required for prep/cooking, how kid friendly is it, and how healthy is it overall?

After reviewing a many many recipes, here are my favorite eight casserole recipes and they rate in each category.

Midwest Living’s Pizza Pasta Skillet recipe adds a fun twist to a classic food. I believe in always making a recipe the way it was written first, before adapting it to my own preference or just to experiment. This dish can made a little bit healthier while keeping it kid friendly with some additional veggie’s like spinach and onions.

Chicken Marsala is always a favorite in our house. This flavorful and easy to make dish by Southern Living is a good choice for a busy weekday dinner.

Who doesn’t like lasagna?! Taste Of Home brings back tradition with this recipe that will make everyone come back for seconds!

Traditionally, Hash Browns are served with breakfast, but this casserole by Cooking Light is filling, and delicious enough to have for dinner. And… it includes bacon, enough said.

This Eight-Layer Casserole takes a little more time to prep and requires a few more ingredients than some of the other recipes, so if you know you have a busy week ahead, this is a good dish to prepare on the weekend. Then, just pop it in the oven anytime during the week for dinner.

It’s not always easy to get kids to eat their veggies, that’s why this recipe by Midwest Living is a great one to try. Their Creamy Chicken-Broccoli Bake is a healthy, flavorful recipe (with veggies) kids will actually want to eat!

Finally, The Chicken Florentine Artichoke Casserole, by Better Homes and Gardens, is a quick dish anyone can throw together easily to feed the whole gang. It’s definitely a healthier option than fast food when you don’t have a lot of time.
